What is an “Intimate Wedding”?
May 9, 2020

I’m thrilled because today I’m kicking off an entire series with some of my favorite vendor friends to dig in and understand what having an intimate wedding is all about. Each week I’ll be speaking on an intimate wedding topic and will be linking to other vendors blog posts as well (see below) on the same topic. By having each topic shared from a different vendor’s perspective you’ll get a comprehensive idea on what an intimate wedding looks like and what we can create for you. So let’s get started…
What is an “Intimate Wedding”?
When it comes to having your own ‘small wedding’ – there are so many options you can go with! A small wedding can be whatever you want it to be – there are different types, sizes, and options which helps you create your perfect story. But to help navigate the world of small weddings, here’s a breakdown of the different tiers of ‘small weddings’ that I’ve found to be the most popular.

Intimate
50 or less guests
An Intimate Wedding is a scaled down version of a traditional wedding with 50 guests or less. Think a smaller, more refined traditional wedding experience! An Intimate Wedding is perfect for couples that want a more traditional experience, but care about quality over quantity and are ready to put their resources and time into the things that really matter to them.
Vendors you may need to include to make your day incredible, but are not limited to are:
- Venue(s)
- Stylist, Designer, and Planner
- Photographer
- Videographer
- Florist
- Rentals (i.e. tables, chairs, linens, etc.)
- Musicians and Entertainment
- Caterer
- Cake
- Stationary, Invitations, and Paper Goods
- Hair and Make up Artists
- Officiant

Quaint
30 or less guests
A quaint wedding is a stripped down version of the full out traditional wedding with 30 or less guests. A quaint wedding is filled with all your most important guests and curated details.
Vendors you may need to include to make your day incredible, but are not limited to are:

Elopement
An elopement is just you, your partner, and an officiant. This is a private ceremony with just the three of you. Despite the small nature of an elopement, you can still include the most beautiful elements to make it an unforgettable experience. Think – quiet moments getting ready, a private ceremony, beautiful personal flowers, a photographer to document your vows, and a night away to celebrate.
