For Couples

Hear me when I say you will spend more time with your wedding photographer than ANYONE else on your wedding day. No exaggeration. So it’s important that you actually LIKE this person that will be with you all day.

So I think it’s time we have the important conversation of…

Why It’s So Important to Have a Relationship with Your Wedding Photographer

01 | You’ll spend more time with your wedding photographer than anyone else…even your spouse

I said it above, and I’ll say it again….this person will be with you from the moment you get into your wedding dress till you hop into your getaway car! Your photographer will be there with camera(s) in hand capturing you in all your glory all day! It’s kind of like you have a mini paparazzi squad with you during your whole wedding day!

Now, I don’t know about you, but if I’m going to have paparazzi follow me around all day I REALLY want to like them! I don’t want irritating unkind people in my face with a camera. I want my photographer to feel like family. So as you interview photographers see if you LIKE this person.

02 | If you enjoy being around your wedding photographer, you’ll enjoy your wedding day that much more!

Wedding days come with lots of emotions, surprises, and everything in between. You want someone by your side who is supportive, emotionally stable, and will serve you well. Being a wedding photographer is like being half photographer and half psychologist on a wedding day. You’re capturing all the beautiful moments while consoling the nervous bride, handing out tissues to mom and dad, and everything in between. So by having a photographer who handles all situations well, the good and the bad, you will ensure you have a better day too!

03 | It will make your pictures better!

The more you enjoy being around someone the more you’ll relax around them. A relaxed bride and groom = better pictures! It’s as simple as that.

When my couples relax behind the camera, I can see them connect better, laugh more, and sit in the moment. This allows me to photograph them being comfortable in their own skin and its so beautiful. At the end of the day you want images you love and feel confident in, so find someone you love, trust, and enjoy being around.

So before you pull the trigger and book the first photographer you talk to, slow down, take some time and get to know them! Here are a few tips on how to choose the right wedding photographer for you! I hope these tips help make your wedding experience that much better.
