Happy 2019| It’s Time to Reflect & Review

January 2, 2019

Happy 2019 Friends!

I’m excited to have the opportunity to share another beautiful year with all of you! As I type this I am super sleepy with a bit of a cold, but feel full and happy for what this year has in store. I love the first of the year because I feel it’s a great time to slow down and take a few moments to reflect before diving back into work after the holidays.

While it is the start of the new year and everyone is making resolutions, I try to instead think more about what I want to cultivate and what habits I want to put into place to make progress towards big milestones I wish to achieve in my life. When I break down my ‘goals’ in this way it makes them more attainable and reachable.

I feel like Lara Casey has said it best, “Little by little, progress adds up.” So that is exactly what I intend to keep in mind today and I encourage you to do the same. What are the daily things/routines you can implement to make big changes in your life?

So today as we start a new year, I encourage you to think of the habits you can start working on right now.

This year I decided instead of spewing what I plan to work on in 2019 right on January 1st I’m going to instead share how I am prepping for this new year and the questions I am asking myself throughout this week with you all. I’m not about jumping right into resolutions without doing the deep work first. I like to take a little extra time to evaluate how things are going before deciding how to move forward.

Today I’m journaling and working on answering the following questions (below). I hope you’ll join me in a day of review and reflection and share your answers to some of these questions below in the comments!

What has been working for me in the past year in all aspects (i.e. – personal, school, photography) of my life?

What has not been working for me in the past year in all aspects of my life?

What do I hope to change in 2019?

What do I hope to let go of in 2019?

What do I hope to gain in 2019?

If you’re feeling stuck on setting your 2019 intentions I encourage you to check out Lara Casey‘s blog. She has such a way of helping women figure out how to set good solid life giving goals!

I’ll be back tomorrow to talk about my answers to some of these questions and how I picked my word for 2019.

Happy New Years Friends! I’m looking forward to a wonderful year with all of you!
