Happy Monday Friends! It’s Thanksgiving week…can you believe it?

I hope you are all taking some much needed time off this week to focus on the important things. While Thanksgiving is a time where we are supposed to be grateful, happy, and giving; we often get stressed and overwhelmed. We run around working till the last minute, shopping, baking, organizing, cleaning, and arranging. We have a million things to do, a million deadlines, and need to find time to fit in family. We get so sucked up in all these details, that we often forget to take time to slow down and appreciate this season.

I encourage you to stop where you are, take a deep breath, and think about what is urgent vs. important in your life. We all have a million things to get done, and let’s be honest….how often do you check EVERYTHING off your to do list? If you’re me, rarely. That’s because I consistently put too much on my plate and never leave enough time to get it all done. But here’s the thing….all those urgent tasks can often wait while I spend what little time I do have with my family and friends.

I especially feel this way around the holidays. Then I read this quote in Nancy Ray’s Contentment Challenge book.

“You can’t simultaneously be grateful and frustrated.” – Michael Hyatt

This was what I needed to hear this week. Thank you Nancy!

We can say we’re grateful, make gratitude lists, and take time to recognize all the good in our life; but if we are spending the rest of our hours frustrated and anxious, are we really practicing a life of gratitude?

WEEK 7 & 8 CHALLENGES

  • Every time you feel anxious, rushed, or frustrated, take a deep breath and gather yourself.
  • Remember this quote throughout this week: “You can’t simultaneously be grateful and frustrated.”
  • When you get overwhelmed, assess if that is a truly urgent task or can it wait?

I hope you all have a gratitude filled week!

It’s boudoir season! Well at least it is in my book!

We’re donating all proceeds to BeLoved Atlanta! Why?

  • I believe in empowering women and lifting women up. I wanted to have a day to celebrate the beauty of women. A day to celebrate the freedom and livelihood of everywoman. BeLoved Atlanta is working to free, educate, support, and love women who have experienced tremendous hardship. They have built a community of restoration for women who have been commercially sexually exploited. They’re an organization we are honored to support.
