There are lots of questions to ask your wedding photographer! So, I’ve compiled a little F.A.Q. post with some of the most common questions I get asked from potential brides.
I have a few talented photographers that I regularly work with and trust. These photographers have a very similar style, and are excellent film photographers. You’re in good hands!
We recommend to plan your wedding day timeline around the light! We know that some couples are all for a first look, while other would like to keep things traditional, ultimately the decision is up to you. We encourage you to think about the time of day you are getting married, and allow for at least 1 hour after your ceremony to take photos with some natural light before the sun sets. For example, this would mean, if the sunsets at 7:00pm then ensure your ceremony ends by 6:00pm so we have plenty of time for portraits! Just remember that having natural light is so important to be able to deliver beautiful portraits to you.
You should expect to get roughly 75-100 images per hour of coverage at a wedding day.
Yes, once you get the images they are yours to use as you’d like! However, we do ask that you not edit or change the look of the images we deliver to you and that you give Amanda Olivia Photography credit for taking the images.
If there are special guests attending your big day, or if certain ceremonies have significant meaning to you, this kind of information is definitely helpful for me to know ahead of time. However, I ask my couples to trust me with the overall direction of their images. I’e found that working off a set shot list creates a rigid and overly posed environment, which unfortunately, doesn’t lead to natural looking photographs. Each couple works differently, so I really try to work with each couple to create a unique experience. Family portraits and bridal parties are typically the only time I work off a set shot list. But don’t worry, I’ll get all your most important moments documented!
No, and you’ll be so thrilled that you don’t! We believe in quality over quantity and want to deliver only the highest quality images to you. We can take up to 5,000 images on a wedding day, and we go through and pick out the best ones for you.
We absolutely travel for weddings and love it! We are based outside Atlanta, GA but will travel anywhere for our couples. We do charge a travel fee when traveling more than 60 miles outside of the Atlanta area. We’d be happy to provide you with a travel quote that would cover our travel expenses (i.e. travel time, fuel, and lodging).
Choose a spot that you love as a couple! Often couples pick places that are important to their relationship. We do always recommend outdoors since natural light is so important to getting you those beautiful dreamy portraits. If you are having trouble finding a place on your own we are happy to recommend a few of our favorite options for your session!
